Finally...an update!

Once upon a time there was a girl who loved musical theater, Disney world, and being a MSU Spartan. Although she loved all of those things, she decided she wanted to do something different with her life: she wanted to be a Rabbi. So off she went to Israel to start her journey...these are her stories.

So, I have been in Israel for about two and half months now and haven't updated. I figured it was about time. So many fun, crazy, and inspiring things have happened. I have learned some Hebrew, gone to beer festivals, wine festivals, arts and craft festivals, concerts. It's amazing all the things that you can go do when you live in a big (and historical) city. As someone born in suburban Michigan, it's very strange to have so many opportunities all the time.

I live about a 30 minute walk from School and a 40 minute walk from the old city. My apartment is nice. Here are some pictures of it:

My bedroom, my desk, and some mac and cheese puff pastries I created. :)

Here is my little toy collection (of course I couldn't travel without them) and also the view off of my balcony.

In the next few days (hopefully) I will catch up on writing about some of the more interesting things that I have done since being here. After that I will hopefully keep posting weekly about my journey here in Israel.

What kinds of thing do you all want to hear about from Jerusalem? Do you have any questions about life here, school, the culture? Let me know and I will be sure to try to post about them.

  1. yes, Dana! I would like to know more about the culture. I don't have any specific quesions; I would like to hear small observations and differences that you think are either odd or cute-some of them can be. or inconvenient.

The pics are great, the view is amazing and I'm proud of you. This is a huge opportunity for you. I didn't actually know you were going.. but now I do obviously. Keep us all updated on your life. What kind of museums do they have there?
